Awesome.

I think the City of London is punishing the British people for Brexit, and they plan to decamp to Brussels once merry olde England is dead.

You're being too kind to Biden. Obama's cabal, led by Victoria Nuland, Jake Sullivan, Anthony Blinken and the other Bolsheviks in his administration orchestrated the 2014 overthrow of the elected and Russian friendly Ukrainian government. Biden was then appointed to lead the effort to extract wealth from Ukraine. Biden is a useful idiot but craven enough to make sure his family got some of the spoils.

General agreement, save for this: "And you have the grotesquely weak leaders of France, Germany, and the rest submitting to this." Yes, they are grotesque and weak but it has never been their intent to oppose, even weakly, the globalist cabal that now runs things in that benighted continent. They want to become part of that cabal. Any mild protests to the contrary (done purely for the theatrics) notwithstanding, this has been their intent since the Soviet Union was disbanded. Once they could no longer use the "common enemy" charade to maintain power, they simply shifted their allegiance from national to global and voila! They stay on top and the commoners grovel at their feet. Importing millions of illiterate and violent masses from foreign countries was simply another way to make certain that the groveling masses remained groveling. Much of Europe has been paralyzed into inaction, but there remain a few pockets of resistance that are now seeking to push back and recover sovereignty from the globalist elite. I wish them well, for their future may very well be our future unless we act in accordance with our own American interests. Trump, as lacking in many desirable qualities as he is, happens to have been the only politician on these shores who recognized what was happening and fortunately for the rest of us, did something about it. He may not have been Obi Wan Kenobi, but as the Princess said about him, "you are our only hope."

John Schrauth's avatar

Trump is not the only one who recognized the situation. He is apparently the only one who thought it was wrong, said so publicly and tried to stop it.

Rick's avatar

Gratuitous jab at Trump.

Not necessary.

He may be a bastard, but he’s OUR bastard (or something like that.)

John Schrauth's avatar

Great article. I believe you are correct that Trump is done with Ukraine for all the reasons listed and many more.

UncleBob9's avatar

Is one of those reasons related to Ukrainian forces training Mexican cartels how to use drones to attack American civilian and military targets, such that some airports (e.g., El Paso) have had to close on one or more occasions due to drone activity?

John Schrauth's avatar

That and more. Cartel members have been photographed with Javelin anti-tank weapons sold by Ukraine. One may assume that large amounts of "desperately needed" ordnance have been sold on the world's black market for weapons. Every US official involved in the 2014 Maidan Revolution should be standing alongside Major Hassan on December 3rd.

"Europe has become something of adversary, if not exactly our enemy, yet."

I would seriously object to that sentence.

In every way possible, Europe (EU) is our enemy. They hate everything we stand for and bitterly resent that we have had to save their sorry asses - twice - in the past century.

They are glad to let us carry the entire burden of continuing to protect them from all of their enemies, up to and including the Iranians spreading terror all over the globe.

They will also gladly continue to send us the trash of their society in hope of continuing our destruction.

Other than that, great article.

The common people of Europe are not so very different from us. There used to be a celebrated common culture.

The elites elected by fraud and defended by a corrupt media and lawfare are very much like the Democrat Party leaders and their rino counterparts in the Republican Party.

The differences are built into the politics and “constitution s”

For example, the 1st and 2nd amendments here in the USA provide us avenue for repairing govt run amok.

The European govts are wild horses with no reins. Much more difficult to repair.

George Norwell's avatar

Indeed, I'd even extend that to 3 times, including the Cold War. They'd all be speaking Russian now if it wasn't for us.

Howard Skillington's avatar

Today’s post is spot-on, with regard to NATO and Ukraine. It is only thanks to Mr. Putin’s preternatural restraint that NATO’s Ukrainian proxy has not fomented WWIII, though the Brits, Pole, Neocons, and other idiots still hope that it may. My guess is that Putin is betting that the US Empire will collapse and become incapable of any more mischief sooner than later.

As for West Asia, the US has not only lost this war, but is likely to be driven entirely out of West Asia. Our Army will never commit suicide by attempting a land invasion, our Navy dares not get within range of Iran’s missiles, our twenty military bases built to surround Iran have been rendered unusable by their accurate attacks for which we no longer have any defense, the Gulf States may or may not continue to exist at Iran’s discretion, and Saudi Arabia is in the process of dissolution.

“Twenty casualties.” And you still believe that?

The reasons we have lost this war were obvious and predictable before it began. We have demonstrated once again that you can't actually win a war by just bombing the shit out of them.

Our missile stockpiles were inadequate and our war profiteers aren't geared up to replace them in a timely fashion.

Our army is laughably inadequate to undertake a land invasion of Iran, and would have been slaughtered.

Iran's decades of preparation for Israel's inevitable aggression has them too well dug in for us to take out their offensive capabilities, much of which are also out of our systems' range.

History shows us that failing empires lose wars on the periphery of their former hegemony.

Iran is a huge, ancient civilization of 93 million people - not an ephemeral western invention like "Saudi Arabia." The Persians are unwilling to be carved up by us as another failed state.

The rest of the world understands that the time is ripe to end the US Empire. Accordingly, China, Russia, Pakistan, and Turkeye are all committed to Iran's survival.

Iran's own technology is far more advanced than we were willing to recognize, and they haven't even used their best stuff yet.

When these obdurate facts were pointed out, over seven months ago, they were ridiculed in this space. You may enjoy doing so today. Have at it. Our own propaganda continues to conceal Reality from view, but not for much longer.

I used to travel to Europe frequently and played a fun game, which is when you are in conversation with locals, stpeak glowingly about the second amendment. When I first started this, I thought the Europeans were like Americans: elites would argue against it but the regular people would support it.

Epic misjudgment! EVERYONE in Western Europe was anti-gun and vocal about it. Like, vehemently. For example the cab driver who drove me to the hotel, stopped the meter and argued a passionately anti-gun argument for the next half-hour. Feckless pacifism is basically the European religion. The only exception were immigrants from former Communist countries.

The Reckoning is coming for Europe and I think of all the indigenous Europeans who will have no choice but to fight, when the monster is at their door and it comes down to protecting your life and the life of your family. People are going to be killing each other with rocks, like chimps, while government goons shoot at them.

Ben's avatar

And they are all very far left, to the point that common sense has fled the entire continent.

GonzoDon's avatar

Perhaps the average European is vehemently anti-gun because they are aware that firearm homicides in the United States occur at 20 times the rates they occur in EU countries. And they read articles about the regular, random slaughter of citizens and schoolkids with firearms in occurrences such as yesterday’s tragedy in Bend, Oregon.

“Between 2009 and 2018 alone, the U.S. recorded 288 school shootings—about 57 times more than all other G7 nations combined.”

Just my wild guess.

Sad but true; I'm afraid everyone over there is either brainwashed, brain dead, or both. They have drunk the Kool Aid for so long that the ideas behind our First and Second Ammendments (pretty much the whole bill of rights, for that matter!) are anathema to them at this point. And that's precisely why they hate us---they actually see our liberties as a threat to them. Witness the attempts to suppress American tech companies that resist censorship programs. No doubt, many American lefties are totally on board with these attitudes; most want to abolish the First Ammendment with "hate speech" laws, and get rid of the Second Amendment any way they can, but they're also not too keen on the rest of the Bill of Rights, either. Gets in the way of socialism!

A.M.'s avatar

That's a funny game, one I never played but I do recall encountering anti-gun sentiments in France. Not so much in the Czech Republic. I spent an evening at a local pub in a Prague neighborhood outside the tourist zone that was decorated with American West everything. It was a really strange contrast to the local folk music they all sang together from their tables.

Excellent except for your take on Iran, which is completely wrong. Iran never had nukes nor intended to have any. It is against their religion. Of course now they will probably get one out of necessity to keep the US and other western marauders from invading their country. reference Tulsi Gabbard, who during a Senate hearing declared that none of the Intel agencies under her auspices thought Iran had or intended to get nukes. A heartrending view of actual consequences, slightly beyond the cost of a gallon of gas.....

Ben's avatar

I find it odd that most people complaining about gas prices also supported destroying the petroleum industry under Obama.

The same ones who whine about American interests being served to keep oil flowing at tremendous costs to our country via war footing.

You can't make this level of absurdity up.

In a January 2008 interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Barack Obama stated that under his proposed cap-and-trade climate plan, "electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket" because capping greenhouse gas emissions would impose costs on fossil fuel plants that operators would pass on to consumers

Here’s one line that President Barack Obama might want to rewind: “Under my plan … electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.”

That quip from a January 2008 interview with the San Francisco Chronicle editorial board is making the rounds in conservative circles — even Mitt Romney referred to it last month – and it likely won’t go away anytime soon.

“If somebody wants to build a coal-fired power plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them,” Obama said, responding to a question about his cap-and-trade plan. He later added, “Under my plan … electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.”

Of course, cap and trade is long dead. But coal-fired power plants are powering down nationwide, and they are blaming the Obama Environmental Protection Agency. The president’s critics say proposed greenhouse gas regulations for future power plants are designed to cripple the coal industry.

And just like with another 2008 quote — Energy Secretary Steven Chu’s famed call to “figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe” — Republicans say the Chronicle clip shows what’s really in the president’s heart, that high electricity prices and the death of coal have always been Obama’s goal.

“There’s one promise he’s kept. One promise he’s kept,” Mitt Romney said on the campaign trail in Illinois last month. “When he campaigned, he said he wanted to raise the price of gasoline. He said that under him, energy costs would skyrocket. And then he brought in a trio of people to help him implement those policies,” Romney said, according to several news outlets .

Tucker acting under "Foreign Influence"? You sound like a DEM Jim. It is pathetic and weak to insinuate this type of thing. I listen to Tucker - agree sometimes, disagree other times. But the primary takeaway from him is that Donald Trump won in 2024, in large part because he opposed the exact type of misadventure that he has undertaken in Iran. I personally believe Republicans will pay the price as a result, despite the fact that so many DEMs are complete nut jobs.

Given that this is week 33 of 6 in Iran, and that you have been pretty much wrong since DAY 1, but that you are still shilling for more, would it be fair to say you are acting under "an influence"?

Why would anyone listen to a cokehead? Typical behavior is dreams of grandeur.

Iran: Who the hell knows what is going on in Iran and what the status of anything is? What we do know is that they fund terrorist groups. That alone should be reason to be in this for the long run future. What needs to be defanged is the IRGC.

As someone who read Putin's February 2022 speech at the time, I agreed with him -- he was justified. EU does not run on logic (well, does any government?) so nothing so logical as "you ain't parking nuclears on my doorstep" would be respected. Let China try setting up that scenario on our borders and see what happens! (Carney playing nice with the CCP could get them the invasion he keeps bleating about.) UK is gone. France is gone. Germany is on her back with legs thrashing. Is anyone talking about relocating the cultural treasures? I mean, I want MOMA and the NYC Library out of NYC before "they" burn them down! They're already burning stuff in France, so what about the Louvre? The tidbits we hear of Trump "dissing" Z is just the tip. I'm surprised we're giving that man a Q-tip, nevermind munitions. It's hard to respect a man who's claim to fame (nevermind his tv role) is playing a piano with his dick before hundreds of people. (We've all seen the video, so don't act shocked.) Putin has tried to play nice with the EU for decades (Minsk Agmt?), but they can't see beyond the end of their (brown) noses. "Biz'ness is biz'ness, so if you can't handle it, get outa the way."

dancingtime's avatar

Chinese discovery suggests it's possible to survive a nuclear war

©Getty Images

In 2025, scientists in China announced a remarkable discovery that could help save lives from deadly nuclear fallout: researchers from the Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health have developed a treatment that has demonstrated proven effectiveness against lethal ionizing radiation.

Indeed, studies have shown that in the event of a nuclear conflict, more people would likely die from radioactive fallout than from the initial blasts. This scientific breakthrough could, therefore, improve survival rates if ever such a doomsday scenario was to occur.

But what exactly does this treatment involve, and how can its full potential be harnessed? Read through this gallery to find out.

They have been trying to figure out how to interfere with the natural progression from one ice age to the next.

Throw some nukes and simulate a meteor strike to send dust into the air and block out the sun for an extended period.
