The comedic part is how both the Fascist/Socialists and Communist/Socialists deny that is what they are to the greater public. The Fascist/Socialists say that they are neither Fascist nor Socialist (when, in fact, they are both), and accuse free-market capitalist conservatives of being the "Fascists"--ignoring the fact that every Fascist in the 20th and 21st Century has denounced capitalism. Meanwhile, the Communist/Socialists brand themselves as "Democratic Socialists," pretending that some form of democracy can exist in a Socialist state, which it cannot.
Ayn Rand was correct when she wrote this:
"There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: communism proposes to enslave men by force, socialism - by vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide."

Somehow since Bill and Hillary were caught in so many lies during Bill's term in office the media needed to find some words that would convey the meaning of lies but would not sound so harsh. If a pol is caught in a lie, we should call it a Lie with a capital L. Agreed, it is a wonderful series. Under our current leadership, the US is moving ever-closer to the collapse detailed in the series. In the books, the US is involved in endless wars overseas, which drain our resources. In addition, the dollar becomes worthless, through inflation, and a host of conditions lead to the collapse of the government and of advanced technological civilization, leading to a "world made by hand" instead, with hand-made clothes, food, etc. That is precisely the path we are on right now. The US cannot, and should not, be involved in endless wars abroad, but we have been involved in intermittent conflicts in the Middle East from our first war with Iraq in 1991 to our latest, growing, war with Iran today. Inflation has been steadily rising, from the Biden Administration through the Trump administration, and our leader says "I love the inflation". I have noticed bare shelves at my local grocery store, and tend to stock up on essentials like laundry detergent, because they are constantly running short of produce, selling for higher prices every week. Kunstler was prescient, the future portrayed in those books is far more likely, and may happen much sooner, today than it the years when the books were first published.
I would love to see more books in the excellent World Made By Hand series. I'm on the fourth (and currently, final) book ... the characters, their circumstances, and their environment are truly believable and compelling.

The first one was Assange releasing a batch of Hillary's emails, which was more or less a legitimate release of State Department emails (including correspondence with Sid "Vicious" Blumenthal); some of those were included in a hack by the Romanian cab driver, Guccifer, early in 2015, giving all of us (including Rich) insight into her recklessness.
Then, in June of the year Rich electronically submitted data from the DNC to WikiLeaks (my best guess). That gets him killed in July (like they couldn't just send him home?)
Finally, Assange's associate Craig Murray, formerly the UK Ambassador to Uzbekistan, publicly admitted to being handed a thumb drive in DC and delivering it to Assange. Roughly summer 2015. That contained the Podesta hack. To this day, we're not sure who the courier was (perhaps someone here- Mike McCormick- has knowledge or a better guess). Those emails and texts, photos of questionable art involving children (birth of Pizzagate), flooded WikiLeaks from then on.
Some unsophisticated low-level cutout who called himself Guccifer 2.0 claimed responsibility, but I saw it as a deflection.

People forget part of the deal involving plane loads of cash and gold was Obama agreeing to lighten up on fighting drug running activities by his favorite people. They had a used car front business where none of the cars were for sale as they were just props. Supposedly they also had an IT biz which DWS hired to work on the DNC computers. It doesn't take much imagination to figure what may have happened with enemy agents accessing all of this data. One may assume they also had thumb drives etc.

This has been my theory since the beginning. Russiagate was an elaborate cover up and misdirection for the murder of Seth Rich.
