“A sane society cannot debate its way out of psychosis. It must diagnose the patient with lethal precision and restore the ancient boundary between the mad and the free.” —LHGrey on X
Yet Becerra and Steyer lead in the polls with the sane Steve Hilton a close third, but third isn't good enough. California is physically a beautiful state, blessed with fertile land, mountains, ocean, lakes, rivers, immense forests, but inhabited largely by folk who need help tying their shoes.
Let’s get one thing straight. California is no more beautiful than any other state in the union (I know. I lived there and was massively unimpressed by the naked rock and dirt that covers much of it). The cities are concrete traffic grid lock hell holes and the inhabitants could use a good hard winter to reorder their brains. California dreaming is what they are doing … probably on LSD.
The comment was never about the cities but about the land and the weather.
While much of the country is freezing their asses off it is often 70 degrees.
I can be at the beach in the morning, drive up into the mountains in the afternoon, and be in the desert in the evening.
No other state is like it.
None.
The cities, at least San Diego, up until the Democrats took control and destroyed everything, was one of the cleanest big cities in America.
Now, the homeless people squatting and shitting on the streets and the mounds of trash they live in are cascading down the sides of the freeways these same homeless have all but destroyed any standard of living.
There are homeless camps with hundreds of stolen bikes stripped down to frames scattered all over the city.
That and the zombie-like hordes of fentanyl freaks passed out standing up, contorted into bizarre statues, is off-putting.
Parts of LA and other big cities look like Blade Runner stages set for the end of the world.
I hated June gloom, and I don’t love weather that never changes. The ocean was cold and ugly compared to the waters around Florida that are often crystal clear and warm. Love the desert dryness all you want but I think the eastern half of the USA is much better and I don’t have to pay for my water which falls abundantly from the sky.
The eternally cold surf temp was the brick thru my plate glass window after I got out there, & it’s freezing year round! Reason being the current comes out of the Bering Sea (where the “Deadliest Catch” guys are fishing) & runs south along the coast. Realized all those Beach Blanket Bingo movies I watched as a kid were nothing but bunk! You can’t stay in that water any length of time without a wetsuit.
Last time I was in LA it was 1984. Outside my hotel was a huge dumpster and one day I was looking out the window and the dumpster opened from the inside and two homeless bums came out. Well let’s face it folks. The people that lived there in dumpsters were ahead of their time.
As long as the generations do not grow the fuck up the BUMS who live off the drugs and alcohol will actually be in office and telling us how to live.
Gee they are in office and are telling us how to think. 🤔
Getting tough and getting in their face must happen to them. The only person doing this is Trump. And guess what? The drug addicted people who are everywhere, not just in dumpsters, hate him. Why? Because he is the only person ready and willing to get rid of them. He needs to get a little more medieval…..🪓⛓️🔪🏹⚔️🗡️💣🧨🛡️. Just my opinion.
What is good about never having a spring or fall?? What is wonderful about EVERY day for the whole year being dry and hot. I love the snow. It’s beautiful. I love spring it’s so green. I love the fall it’s so colorful. I love rain and stormy weather. I hated California weather. But I’m glad you love it because everyone should live where they are happy.
As you say, "to each, his (or her) own." You can keep your snow, leaf color changes and hot humid summers. IMO, California weather is second to none. I can assure you, for many people here, it's the only thing left that keeps them here.
First they have to figure out how to get into whatever pants they’re wearing that morning. Without those the shoes are immaterial. Clown shoes are hard to pull pants over when wearing.
The NYPost reported that practically all of the protestors that were arrested were from out-of-state ie paid political actors - the dirty work of Soros, Singham, Reid Hoffman etc.
"practically all of the protestors that were arrested were from out-of-state"
Same as it ever was. The entire "civil rights" movement was a Marxist sham full of paid protestors and rehearsed stunts. The media and the hippies nee Boomers lapped it up, rejoiced and exalted in it. They still pat themselves on the back over it and think they accomplished great things.
As a boomer I can say nobody I associated with participated in the civil rights movement or gave it more than a passing thought. Many protested the Vietnam War, which was a life or death issue for draft-eligible young men. Civil rights protesters generally didn't care that we were subject to involuntary servitude.
The Deep State of the 60s could not sell the need for Viet Nam. Just like every war since. Until goals are stated and met, wars are a waste of lives and resources. If legitimate goals are set, wars are to be won.
The Far Left Marxists self-fund. They use their own money. They all have jobs. They are decentralized. One example: DSA (at 100,000 members) has dues @ $15/month for each member. I think it is RCA which wants a day's pay per month as dues. These people are zealots who want to overthrow the Constitution.
Primary source info, includes an intro course and a four-hour presentation, among other offerings. It takes a little time to digest. There is a new language (the language of the Far Left) to learn. It's a rabbit hole worth going down.
She doesn't pull any punches on her channels, and one might experience a significant reshuffling of synaptic connections. If you do go on her channels (YT, Rumble) my best advice is be quiet for the first few months. Say nothing, do not offer opinions, and do not engage! It is a learning experience which takes time. Be an observer. It has taken me about half a year+ to feel comfortable enough to venture out into what amounts to a different world.
There's also a learning curve based on generational approach. There are mostly (but by far not exclusively) younger portion of GenX, Millenials, and Zoomers along with some Boomers.
If you stay the course you'll never view what is happening in the country the same as you do today.
I owe you a link from a week or more ago regarding gas prices:
After the public assassination of Charlie Kirk (may he rest in peace), I found a few people on x her age who explained a lot using that kind of lingo.
It is not as simple as the word for Groovy (which we used to us, not me though i was too cool) morphing into different words every 10 years.
It is far more complicated and indeed "one might experience a significant reshuffling of synaptic connections".
It is like adding another part-time job.
We read substack and other places/people who have proven not to
have sold out
We follow some podcasters for news and current events
we spend a hour or so daily on X
Now we need to re-shuffle or synaptic connections.
I'll tell you, I am 71 and my mind is going to outlive my body for sure.
It gets quite a workout daily. I do physically work out as well, and am in
good shape, so that's another part-time job.
Plus I'm an involved Grandma hoping to one day pass my wisdom on to the grands when they are a bit older. But learning this stuff will help me know how to talk to them and where they may be coming from. They are subjected to leftism in every way shape or form. School, movies, TV, books, the absolute sucky popular hip-hop rap shit.
I began down this path last year. I also needed to better understand what was being said and how these generations speak and approach issues. Best advice remains: be a learner, observer, and don't engage for the first few months. I went out on May Day this year to gather and contribute gathered information to her non-profit: https://karlyn.substack.com/p/introducing-the-center-for-left-wing .
The result was being much better prepared to understand what the Far Left marxists are doing. Also, each generation has its own terms, which you note. Learning their terms is very helpful.
The 'Robber Barons' living in their mansions along the Hudson bought their politicians and sent them to Albany. Not much changes, I think the magnitude is many times greater. However we can really only reference our present experiences and have opinions about what occurred over 100 years and more ago.
Like gravity-denying fools flinging themselves from airplanes without parachutes, and riffling and roaring on the way down, the people you are critiquing are in for a hard collision with reality.
You're right, yet even if they continue to deny gravity to the moment of their extinction, it must ultimately manifest. Maybe not this week or this year, but soon enough geologically. That's just flat-out true--the physics of foolishness.
As Heraclitus might have said, "Stupid shit cannot last."
California will re-elect Bass, and either Bacteria (sic) or Porter for Gov. No hope exists for those still stupid enough to support democrats. I was born & raised in Pasadena, spent a career in IT (IBM, Disney, Sony…) and left for a free state as soon as our youngest graduated HS. It was a beautiful place to grow up - camping, backpacking, skiing, scuba, theater, dining, surfing. But you have to be an idiot to be there now.
Conservatives need to stop saying that Democrats like Bacerra are “world-class incompetent.”
Bacerra did exactly what he (and his handlers) intended to do. I would say that he and others in the Biden regime (like Mayorkas) were very successful in purposely damaging their country.
Karen Bass was not at all concerned with putting out the LA fires. The Dems want to seize the land and build low-income housing.
Democrats in power are diabolical but they often manage to accomplish their goals.
If we can read Substack and figure out Antifa’s MO, don’t you think the FBI knows who’s running the show? It would be pretty easy to arrest the leadership and RICO the funding sources. This means the FBI doesn’t want to shut Antifa down? Why?
The media - both news and entertainment - have now politicized nearly everything in our society as an extremely powerful mechanism of control.
Politicization is so effective at manipulating the populace because most people emotionally connect their personal belief system to the belief system of their political party, and so then any attack on their party - legitimate or otherwise - is interpreted by their brain as an attack on themselves. Reason and logic then jump out the nearest window as raw emotion takes the helm, thus making them even more susceptible to the predatory controlling influences.
The thing that amazes me is that 100% of the Democrats sign up to 100% of the check boxes of the Democrat platform. Absolutely no deviation. We might as well have robots on the Left side of the House and Senate. The first thing that the Left-Lefties do in the morning is look up what the daily dose of bullshit they are going to spout. What a perfect spot for an AI center.
Sydney Sweeney is much better looking than these numbskulls. They are a good demonstration of the deviancy of the Left side of our society right now. Didn’t carnivals used to use folks like these in their side shows?
My understanding of the Founders' intentions did not include a 2-party system. Neither did they outright preclude it. It is a 'creature' which 'came about' in the early decades of the Republic. There are more than two parties in the USA. The so-called 'uniparty' (the faux 2-party system) colludes to keep the other parties off the stage in order to continue their grift.
Washington warned against party formation. I think he wanted an intelligentsia Congress, making “smart” laws based on merit. Instead, we get what we have.

"making “smart” laws based on merit. Instead, we get what we have."
It has drifted far from the Original intent. Washington warned against quite a few behaviors for the new Republic. The warnings needed more attention than they received.
The urban (nascent industrialization at the time) v agrarian (as in the Southern states) became (literally) a hot issue by the 1860's. A Constitutional Crisis which should have been settled in the courts was instead met with force of arms and settled by armed conflict (paraphrasing Jefferson Davis).
Political partys formed up pretty quick tho. As soon as Washington passed away in 1799. A few years later emotions were running so hot two founding fathers -- Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton -- were shooting at each other in Weehauken, NJ.
American expat billionaire communist Neville Roy Singham funded the protests in MN. Plus many other protests. He has blood on his hands & is a traitor.
Article in the NYPost this morning about a kerfuffle in the State of NY 'Reparations Committee'; it seems a sizable percent of members want reparations for every aggrieved group under the sun, not just descendants of slavery in the south before 1865. After all "We are all victims of 'White Supremacy`.This is causing friction in the Reparations Movement as you can well imagine. Some black members have gone so far to accuse Democrats of flooding NY with 3rd World immigrants in order to dilute the black vote and black political influence. Muslims, for example, who suddenly are numerous enough to form their own powerful coalition. They want their cut of the Reparations Swag too. After all havent they been oppressed by Christians & Jews in NY, especially since 9/11, which of course was the fault of Republicans, Israel, Catholics, Protestants, and White Supremacists in order to make Islam look bad.
Evidently, the "hunger strikers" at the Delany facility were unhappy with the choices of jambalaya, chicken burgers, or bean burritos plus salads, breads, and desserts for their dinner.
Iran has damaged 20 US military sites since the start of the war, satellite images and videos analysed by BBC Verify show, suggesting the attacks are more extensive than publicly acknowledged.
Iran has targeted key facilities across eight countries in the Middle East since the end of February, causing millions of dollars of damage to state-of the-art air defence systems, refuelling aircraft and radars.
Tehran has targeted both US bases and shared military facilities in retaliation to the US-Israeli strikes across Iran and Lebanon over the past three months. The Pentagon says it has hit more than 13,000 targets in Iran since the start of Operation Epic Fury.
Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader, has sought to highlight his military's success in striking US facilities. In a statement on Tuesday he claimed the Middle East was no longer a "safe place" for American bases.
While the White House has repeatedly claimed that Iran's military has been almost wiped out, analysts said that the damage seen at US facilities suggests that Tehran's counter-attacks have been more precise and extensive than American officials have previously acknowledged.
A US defence official declined to comment on BBC Verify's findings, citing "operational security reasons".
The US has sought to limit satellite analysis of the conflict by requesting Planet, a major provider, to impose an "indefinite" restriction on new images of Iran and most of the Middle East. The company justified the move, saying that it wanted to ensure its images were not used "by adversarial actors to target allied and Nato-partner personnel and civilians".
BBC Verify has used satellite imagery from other international providers combined with older images from Planet to track the damage caused by Iranian attacks. The facilities are in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Bahrain and Oman. The actual figure could be higher, with some analysts placing the number of bases hit as high as 28.
Among the valuable hardware damaged were three state-of-the-art anti-ballistic missile batteries systems at the Al Ruwais and Al Sader airbases in the UAE and Muwaffaq Salti Airbase in Jordan.
The US is only known to operate eight of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) batteries, which are deployed at bases around the globe and cost around $1bn (£766m) to manufacture. Each battery needs a crew of about 100 troops to operate it while the interceptors it fires cost around $12.7m per round.
Vice-Admiral Mark Mellett, the ex-head of the Irish Defence Forces, told BBC Verify that the batteries are at the core of a "highly complex" regional defence network that cannot be "quickly or easily replaced".

George Floyd was a documented criminal. Miss Goode and Mr. Pretti were documented law abiding citizens. George Floyd died of an illegal drug overdose while being detained by cops for commiting a counterfeiting crime. Goode and Pretti had their heads blown off by zealous cops while protesting. WHY HAVE GOOD AND PRETTI BEEN FORGOTTEN AND FLOYD RAISED TO SAINTHOOD?
Good and Pretti died for the revolution. While Walz and Frey watched it all on TV in their taxpayer-funded HQ while munching combos and drinking Perrier. If you want to be angry about it, direct your anger to the elected representatives who urged their constituents to go out in the streets to confront federal agents.
L.A. Mayor candidate Spencer Pratt's election advertising has been interesting. He's creating awareness of the ginormous corruption by spray-painting orange circles around potholes, burned out buildings and broken street lights. Way to go Spencer! Best of luck on Tuesday.

San Diego has been a dump since Roger Hedgecock got railroaded almost 40 years ago.
I left back then and wouldn't go back on a bet.*
The dem politicians are elected by fraud and owe their jobs to criminal aliens.
San Diego was the last of the big cities to fail, but the whole state from top to bottom is an abject failure - and well beyond redemption.

Correct. No other state is like it. I’ve been to all but Alaska, have lived in CA, CO, AZ.

California has the best weather by far IMHO, but many states are equally as beautiful if not more so.

Yep!
The part she leaves out, we have all that as well, once out of the coastal areas, the weather does, in fact, change like everywhere else.
One hour drive up to Laguna Mountain, we get spring, summer, fall and gasp snow every winter.
‘IMHO’
I get tired of Wisconsin winters after 60 years of it, but am grateful that it keeps Skid Row at bay.
One year in Chicago was enough for me.

I love the way this "reparations" nonsense is backfiring on them!
Evidently, the "hunger strikers" at the Delany facility were unhappy with the choices of jambalaya, chicken burgers, or bean burritos plus salads, breads, and desserts for their dinner.
Fakest outrage ever.
News and comment from outside the MAGA bubble: Iran attacks damage 20 US military sites since start of war, satellite images show
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c2l2yl7r8r2o

Click through for images and more details the Trump administration would rather you didn't know about. But yeah, trans athletes are totally a big deal too, totally.
And your point in coming to this site is what?
This is the Canadian booted from the site, he fancies himself something he clearly is not, but an Iranian supporter he clearly is.
He or it is into "equity." There aren't enough Prog douchebags commenting and it is attempting to rectify that.
You’re like totally a big deal too, troll. Take your TDS somewhere else.
Old news. Iran is in much worse shape.
You misrepresent Goode and Pretti. They brought about their own demise by illegally and intentionally interfering with law enforcement.
No, they were not; they both refused lawful orders from law enforcement that was not law-abiding.
L.A. Mayor candidate Spencer Pratt's election advertising has been interesting. He's creating awareness of the ginormous corruption by spray-painting orange circles around potholes, burned out buildings and broken street lights. Way to go Spencer! Best of luck on Tuesday.
