In the US college is treated like a four-year long party. Great emphasis is placed on semi-professional football and basketball teams, and young people are told, via things like MTV and stupid movies like "Old School" and "Animal House" that college is just a place to get drunk, get laid, join a fraternity or sorority, and generally screw around. In my neighborhood each May large numbers of young men and women return home, after graduating from college, and immediately move back in with their parents and start a very low-paid, menial job, often stocking shelves at a local grocery store or working the cash register at a Royal Farms convenience store. They never bother paying back their student loans, of course.

When you go to the hospital, the reason you get separate bills from the hospital itself and then also "physicians groups" and "specialist organizations" and whatnot is not because those physicians are independent contractors out there hustling being medical entrepreneurs and owning their own businesses. Oh no. Don't be so naive. It's just because the hospital can bill your insurance more if they do it separately. In other words they can double dip more easily. Usually the physicians group even has the same physical address as the hospital. These doctors are employees of the hospital (or clinic) and those "independent" organizations only exist for the purpose of billing more than they could otherwise.
I learned this because I was shopping around for a cash price for an MRI a few months ago and got hoodwinked into using the hospital instead of going to my local independent clinic like I usually do. The hospital told me my "patient contribution" was going to be slightly less than the cash price at the independent place, so I went there, only to find out later that the "contribution" they mentioned was just the down payment and they were intending all along to bill me for more than twice as much later. Then I got the separate radiologist bill, too, for an additional 25% over the patient contribution.
And in the course of my research in disputing this nonsense, the clinic then admitted to me that it's only their cash price that is "bundled". If I had used insurance there they would have done the same thing and sent me a separate radiologist bill because insurance pays better that way.

My eldest son opted to skip college, and devote himself to years of intensive electrical school. He's now a journeyman electrician working on a new data center in West Texas, earning $70.00/hr. I am not aware of any evidence that shows that doctors were paid to give Covid or other shots.. in fact, Giving immunizations Pays so little to none that Doctors are reluctant to do it except for what they believe is good for their patients.. Unfortunately, a lot of doctors believe the Fauci lies that comes through their Academy, such as the American Academy of Pediatrics in particular, which are very woke organizations.. That's where it needs to be addressed. At the organizational level. But I don't believe that financial corruption is involved at the individual doctor's office level, although it probably is so at the organizational level that they listen to and whose directions they follow.

Yes, that is certainly true. But a doctor's overhead to give the shot is X, then giving at least some remuneration allows them to break even with their overhead. At no time has giving vaccines ever been considered any sort of profit center.

I learned something last week. Maybe it's just common knowledge and I'm just slow, but maybe not. Here goes.
When you go to the hospital, the reason you get separate bills from the hospital itself and then also "physicians groups" and "specialist organizations" and whatnot is not because those physicians are independent contractors out there hustling being medical entrepreneurs and owning their own businesses. Oh no. Don't be so naive. It's just because the hospital can bill your insurance more if they do it separately. In other words they can double dip more easily. Usually the physicians group even has the same physical address as the hospital. These doctors are employees of the hospital (or clinic) and those "independent" organizations only exist for the purpose of billing more than they could otherwise.
I learned this because I was shopping around for a cash price for an MRI a few months ago and got hoodwinked into using the hospital instead of going to my local independent clinic like I usually do. The hospital told me my "patient contribution" was going to be slightly less than the cash price at the independent place, so I went there, only to find out later that the "contribution" they mentioned was just the down payment and they were intending all along to bill me for more than twice as much later. Then I got the separate radiologist bill, too, for an additional 25% over the patient contribution.
And in the course of my research in disputing this nonsense, the clinic then admitted to me that it's only their cash price that is "bundled". If I had used insurance there they would have done the same thing and sent me a separate radiologist bill because insurance pays better that way.
Everything is a scam and you are the mark.
Here in Canada, we simply give them our health card and pay nothing. Zilch. Nada. Bupkis. 🤷🏻♂️

Medicine and insurance are beyond awful. Someone I knew my whole lufe recently passed largely because hospitals had to check the various boxes the insurance company demanded (gotta "rule out" various illnesses that had nothing to do with anything, for example), so that, by the time the boxes were checked, multiple organs had failed and he died. It didn't help that, since everything was handled tbe way it was, he came to believe that "nobody gives a fuck about me," so he gave up. The same damn thing happened with my Dad several years ago, where doctors fucked around, then decided he was too old to bother treating, loaded him up with fentanyl, and sent him off to a "nursing home" to be bled dry as he stared at the ceiling, not knowing who he was anymore or where he was; meanwhile, aides at the nursing home provided the minimum "care" to get their pay. I could go on, but won't because it makes me too furious.

My eldest son opted to skip college, and devote himself to years of intensive electrical school. He's now a journeyman electrician working on a new data center in West Texas, earning $70.00/hr. If I had it to do over again, I would become an electrician. It's cerebral work and satisfying. Work hard as a journeyman, learn the trade thoroughly, then start my own business.
Our youngest son graduated highschool with honors and got 3 scholarships. Went off to college for one year, found out it was not for him. Has tried several different things. About 2 years ago he called us and told us he was going back to school at the vocational college in our area. He is studying and learning HVAC. He loves it, is number 1 in his class. His instructor has told him, that would no problem for him to have a good paying job when he is finished with the course.
