It is times like this that I ask myself if the Lefties can get any stupider.

Sadly, the answer is always: yes.

john galt's avatar

You are too kind, as the pure evil from the Dimms is not from stupidity, at least from those fomenting the destruction and madness that is their party. Rather, it is pure satanic evil derived from their adoption of marxist ideology and methodology. There is plenty of stupidity in the useful idiots that follow the evil cretins who lord over them, but the globalists and marxists who call the shots care not a wit for the deranged Americans, and illegal invaders who rally to their calls, but only about the absolute and eternal control to be obtained through them.

Madfoxx22's avatar

Absolutely on point!

kim sayer's avatar

Frank Whiten's avatar

And they’re not even missed. How sad.

Frans Susan Phillips Duncan's avatar

▲ They're definitely dumb...only those incapable of logical thought could embrace Marxist ideology.

Harry's avatar

Is the entirety of the Democratic Party 'pure satanic evil'? Or does the party, like the Republicans, represent many different ideologies?

And before you label the Democrats as 'Marxist', do the research and understand the definition. You're embarrassing yourself.

john galt's avatar

No, the Demoncrap Party has adopted the ideology of the CPUSA, and followers either adopt or go along like useful idiots. Some can discontinue their membership and become sane and productive members of society, but will have to give up the grifting and fraudulent activities so prevalent, and stop supporting illegals against American citizens and the destruction sought by Dimms.

Harry's avatar

I'm sure you have a few links to illustrate the communist components adopted by the Democratic Party. Before you start, please review the definition of 'communism'.

As for grifting, look no further than the family of the current administration.

Freedom 4 conservatives's avatar

Try these definition of Communism:

Control or total ownership of the means of production by the government.

Centrally planned economy.

Elimination of free speech.

No private ownership of firearms.

Government control of the press--use of the press only as a propaganda tool.

People exist to serve the government, not government exists to serve the people.

Redistribution of income and wealth, "From each according to his means, to each according to his needs."

Persecution, re-education, imprisonment, or execution of anyone who dares to disagree with the state.

The governmental Communist elite feeds first and deep at the trough, the citizenry last.

Which Party is checking most of these boxes? The pile of shit called the 2025 Democrat Party.

Harry's avatar

I don't see any of those in today's Democratic Party. I do see many of them present in the Trump administration, like government control of the press, elimination of free speech, redistribution of income and wealth, and the elite feeding at the trough.

Freedom 4 conservatives's avatar

The basic difference between the Democrat Party and the Republican Party:

The Democrat Party is so afraid of losing that they will do every wrong thing just to win; the RINO wing of the Republican Party is so afraid of losing that they won't do the right thing and then they lose, anyway.

I spent years as an elected (Republican) official. I live by one ethos, "To thine own self be true." I would have rather lost an election by doing the right thing than to win an election by doing the wrong thing. To many (especially a Democrat), that would make me a stupid politician--but I never had to live with being a liar and a fraud like most Democrats have to.

Cankerpuss's avatar

Yes, they can get more stupid. They still have money and as long as they have money they can continue to download their porn, take their drugs, bet on professional sports, stand in lines at Disneyland, watch the bachelorette and the ladies with the puffy lips, and obsess over their genitals and orgasms. Frankly speaking, Americans have had it too good for too long. They no longer know what it is like to struggle, to sacrifice or to go without. All of their basic survival needs are met giving them plenty of time to obsess over their genders and their political tribes.

One day the money will be gone and they will be forced to stress and worry about where their next meal is going to come from. Maybe then they will be forced to re-think their life choices.

Then again......maybe not. What the hell do I know.

Agreed. But fret not, hard, possibly apocalyptic times are coming. How can a Republic stand when 50% of the population "thinks" and seeks its destruction?

The most dangerous things about Democrats is their obliviousness to their own demise as a result of destroying the country. It's astonishing and terrifying how they are blind to the repercussions of their vote and policies/rhetoric etc .. even after fleeing a once gorgeous state like California.

Take it from a L.A. local, TDS started decades before Trump, it just didn't have a "T" until Trumpy came down the escalator. 🙏4💪🇺🇲🌎✌️

Harry's avatar

Wow. Porn? If that's the case, how is it that porn use is highest in red states?

john galt's avatar

If that were true, Demmo, it would only be because of leftist/marxists ideology among the Demoncraps. Just another made up claim like the communists always do with no basis in reality.

Harry's avatar

It's clear you haven't done the research. Maine, while not considered a red state, has two GOP Senators, followed by Georgia and Utah.

One of the Maine senators caucuses with Schumer’s Democrats while the other is the best known rino in the senate. Maine hasn’t cast its four electoral college votes for a Republican in this century (perhaps as far back as the 1980s).

Harry's avatar

Maine splits their electoral votes, and in the last two elections, Trump has received an Electoral College vote.

Cankerpuss's avatar

• A recent Reuters report (March 27, 2026) notes that Iranian hardliners, including figures aligned with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), have publicly intensified calls for pursuing a nuclear bomb and have questioned Iran’s long‑standing policy against nuclear weapons — arguing that if the country’s survival is threatened, Tehran may need to revise its doctrine and abandon its current stance. The report states that some within the establishment view nuclear armament as necessary if survival is at stake, and this debate is becoming more public amid current conflicts and leadership changes.

Iran hardliners ramp up calls for a nuclear bomb, sources say | Reuters https://share.google/1brgnci2tEeVqNSVw

You might want to read some of the comment by Vietnam vets who talk about finding Japanese soldiers still in the jungle fighting WW2 in 1970s/80s - looks like IRGC may have the same kind of thinking and will fight to the death.

pete's avatar

No surprise there.

In the name of Islam, they would blow up the entire planet

AwakeNotWoke's avatar

None whatsoever. This was completely foreseeable and there can be little doubt it was foreseen, much like the looming economic impact. Stagflation during a recession is not negative to everyone. If there's very high unemployment combined with high prices and businesses going to the wall POTUS Trump and Mr Netanyahu and their buddies who want this outcome can clean up big time.

Paul B. Cohen's avatar

Is this a cry of alarm indicating that you’ve finally woken up to the danger of a genocidal regime, or your call to submission to Allah?

AwakeNotWoke's avatar

Neither, since I don't subscribe to either Semitic or Muslim deities or ideologies. It's just related to an observation that Khameini Snr was a relative moderate and that the fatwa against nuclear weapons acquisition that he issued may soon be overruled now that hardliners have taken control in the wake of his assassination.

The hardliners would figure that the US has been too gutless to threaten Kim Jong Un and that Israel and the US would have been too gutless to have attacked if Iran had nuclear weapons.

So now as a result of the action by Israel and the US they will aim to develop an illegal stockpile similar to Israel's illegal stockpile.

Inisfad's avatar

Khamenei Sr was not a ‘moderate’. Reuters is a UK based news outlet. And it’s the UK (City of London) that has been behind global chaos for centuries. Notice that it is the action of Lloyds of London that stopped fuel going through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump is dismantling the grip that the City of London has had on the globe. Be wary of where your news comes from.

Gwennie's avatar

Huh? Surely you understand that they've been aiming to create a nukey little stockpile all along...

AwakeNotWoke's avatar

I very much doubt that. They're religous whack jobs. Unlike Americans who profess to worship Jesus or God but in reality are psychopathic killers if not covert devil worshippers they are psychopathic kilkers too but they take their religion very seriously and there is no sign that they have been prepared to violate any fatwa. It was decades after one was issued against Salman Rushdie and they still hunted him down and disfigured him. There's talk now of a new fatwa for, rather than against, nuclear weapons.

john galt's avatar

So, the lies from this insanely tyrannical regime about their intercontinental missiles having no more than a 15-2500 km range when this war exposed their 4000 km missiles does not deter you from believing they did not want nuclear weapons. Why the 405 kg of nuclear material for a bomb since they now claim a fatwa against a bomb? The Quran directs them to lie to infidels and they have practiced that for millennia and nothing has changed. They still slaughter in the name of allah and revel in death while fighting for allah to achieve paradise and the 72 beautiful virgins, female and male. You have to be either a muslim or a Demoncrap, since both lie with every breath and if not, merely a useful idiot.

David Collins's avatar

Israel never signed the Nuclear Disarmament Treaty. So, their nukes aren't illegal.

AwakeNotWoke's avatar

You're correct, actually. Iran became a party to the NPT shortly after it entered into force in 1970, committing to not develop or acquire nuclear weapons and to accept international safeguards monitored by the IAEA. Isreal did not. As an NPT member, Iran agreed not to pursue nuclear weapons and to accept IAEA safeguards on its nuclear activities. Since being attacked by Israel in 2025–26, Iran’s government has discussed suspending or withdrawing from the NPT, and there have been threats or draft legislation in that direction — but as of now Tehran remains formally a party to the treaty. Israel doesn't. It's possession of WMDs violates international norms butis not strictly illegal.

Inisfad's avatar

It is somewhat laughable to think that Iran, under the guise of the IAEA ‘agreement, was only enriching uranium for domestic energy, even though they had enriched to 60%. Assuming that jihadists are going to honor an agreement with organizations that they consider to be ‘Satan’, is laughable.

JohnAZ's avatar

Night owl's avatar

JohnAZ's avatar

Agreed, you can bet there is a race on to get a bomb built before the build site is destroyed. Sometimes I do not understand DC thinking, delaying ten days? Maybe a sense of imperviousness hits folks when they drink Potomac water? Iran is up to no good, where are they going to raise hell as Trump allows with ten more days to do it. A story emerged this AM about an Iranian general threatening Americans in our parks and public lands.

AwakeNotWoke's avatar

Iran has intimated that it is planning to hit Americans in hotels as well as in parks and public lands. They are very frustrated at the absence of ground troops and are begging the US to "come closer." They see the Marines and Army as girlie men and are eager to start killing them.

They have also signalled that they may further disrupt global oil supplies by leveraging proxies to disrupt the Bab al-Mandeb strait, which could escalate the crisis from 10 to nearly 17 million barrels of oil per day. I

Inisfad's avatar

They are also now enrolling teenagers into their military, as they have a reduced capacity for military aged men. The IRGC and their supporters only constitute about 10% at the very most, of the Iranian population.

Ron Armstrong's avatar

@Inisfad

Let’s be precise.

Khamenei Sr was a relative moderate. He issued the fatwa against nuclear weapons development and repeatedly reaffirmed it. The current hardliner push to overturn that fatwa only gained real momentum after his assassination. That is not revisionism; it is the documented shift in Iranian policy since his death.

Dismissing a Reuters report because it is a “UK-based news outlet” and then implying the City of London is behind global chaos is a textbook genetic fallacy. The origin of the messenger does not determine the truth of the message. The same reporting on hardliner pressure for a nuclear bomb has appeared in multiple independent outlets (AP, BBC Persian, Al Jazeera, and even some Iranian exile media). You don’t get to wave away the substance by pointing at the flag on the masthead.

On manpower: Iran has a population of roughly 89 million. Even using conservative estimates, it has well over 20 million military-age males (18–35). The IRGC is an elite parallel force, not the entire military. Conscription applies across the country. The claim that Iran is “reduced to enrolling teenagers” because the IRGC and its supporters are “only 10% of the population” is simply not credible. Iran still has a very large pool of fighting-age men. Enrolling teenagers is desperation born of high casualties and the desire to project total commitment, not demographic collapse.

The idea that Iran is somehow running out of bodies is wishful thinking that ignores basic demography. They have manpower. What they lack right now is air defence, integrated command-and-control, and the ability to stop precision strikes on their nuclear and military infrastructure.

Your attempt to dismiss the Reuters reporting while simultaneously hand-waving Iran’s strategic shift is not analysis; it’s motivated reasoning dressed up as scepticism. The hardliners are in the ascendant, the fatwa is under pressure, and the trajectory toward weaponisation is clear.

Facts over slogans.

This attack was the first known use by the Epstein regime of electro-magnetic mines in its war on Iran. The regime's use of those mines on a residential target constitutes a major escalation of its attacks on Iran's civilian population."

Yesterday I got three invitations to a poster making party and the ICE protest, including one from a local professor I nearly had an affair with 50 years ago. (A few years ago I moved back to my CA home town.) I said to each, “Neville Singham sent me posters but I have other things I need to do, like pick up trash on the beach.” At which point they all said “Who’s Neville Singham?” But even if I did want to do it, the thought of seeing some broken down old hippie at the protest and wondering if I made out with him when I was a teen would stop me. Sometimes I wonder why the old Boomers I know don’t do retirement by wearing a speedo to the beach like my parents’ generation.

JohnAZ's avatar

Hippies in the 60s, Gen Z today.

The common denominator, they are cults with government dependence at their heart. They are people that do not want to compete (and it IS competition) or have lost in the economic game. They are drop outs, continuously looking for the handout from the government that they are owed, in their mind. They vote Democrat, especially after the Dems figured out during the Obama administration just how many of the dependent people there were in the voting booth. So that is what is happening, a race to see how dependent that the Dem controlled government, still is, can make the US people be. The more “hippies” they can develop, the more majority votes will permanently in their column. That IS the real motivation to import millions of immigrants and now preserve them. Think what an opportunity 2026 and 28 is for the Left, if they get power back into the DC cesspool, they will get their illegals to be enfranchised and the ball game is over.

But maybe there was some other potential scandal, such as connections to criminal organizations, improper conduct as a lawyer or judge, concealment of a family member's criminal activities, paying someone to take a bar exam (which I wonder may have happened so Ketanji Brown Jackson could become a lawyer, given her patent stupidity (including not knowing what in the actual fuck what a woman is)), havinf an intern turn up dead in an official office (as happened with Joe Scarborough), or some other awful thing. Multiply this by every congressman, senator, congressional aide, judge, USSC clerk, bureaucrat, and lobbyist in DC, and then ask yourself why things are the way they are.

John Schrauth's avatar

You may have noticed how the lovely Anna Paulina Luna got the big smackdown from 90% of her colleagues upon filing a bill to require publishing the list of congress people who availed themselves of a special congressional fund used to pay cash settlements to staff claiming they have been sexually assaulted or harassed by her colleagues. Many on the list are still there and not happy with Ms. Luna attempting to shine the spotlight on them. Thune is either a loon or highly compromised as I can see no "principle" involved in his actions or statements.

UncleBob9's avatar

You can't have principles if you rise to a position of power in DC -- or Albany, Springfield, Atlanta, Sacramento, Austin, or elsewhere.

As a Democrat friend told me 30 or so years ago, when I contemplated a political career, "Robert, politics is the dirtiest goddamn business there is. You can't be honest to get anything done, and once you get in, they own your ass. And once you do everything they want you to do, they throw you out like a piece of shit." Other friends assured me he was right, and added that you're never your own man if you're a politician. No doubt that is a reason for the hatred of Trump: he's his own man and he's not easily pushed around by the system that's compromised our government.

Cankerpuss's avatar

The fact that the vote is almost always straight down party lines, that out of the 50% of either side there isn't a handful of "representatives" or "senators" who have a unique thought or disposition indicates these sons of bitches and bitches are doing exactly what they are told. So, I ask the question, what purpose does the Congress of the United States serve? They no longer serve a purpose other than obstructing themselves, holding committee hearings, and putting money in their pockets. The US Congress, the biggest abject failure of the great American experiment. Populated by do nothing automatons. Every American should be pointing their fat fingers at the US Congress rather than the US Presidency. Congress has abdicated its authority. Congress has been a colossal failure.

If only the States could get it together and come together to re-work the US Congress. Give the Senate back to the State legislatures. Increase the size and scope of the House, make it a draft lottery rather than a money driven popularity contest election. Anything would be better than the shit show we have now. But the States themselves are so dependent upon the Federal tit that they can't think for themselves either and some states are as corrupt as the Federal leviathan. For get a convention of states.

JohnAZ's avatar

Changing the Constitution will do nothing, Cankerpuss. The real problem is the change in the integrity and intelligence of the people of the USA. How do you change a people back to an independent lot that does not expect the government to take care of them?

On Fox man on the street interviews, it is disgusting to hear people “demanding” that the government will take care of them.

Look around, our populace is becoming European or even Russian.

Cankerpuss's avatar

I can't say I disagree with you, JohnAZ. I believe the teevee has really served to dumb down the American population.

UncleBob9's avatar

If there was a convention of the states, it would be a fiasco. Either Democrats, Establishment Republicans, and the MAGA/independents would be unable to agree about anything, or the first two groups would take away the rights of everyone else and put it into the new Constitution.

Cankerpuss's avatar

That certainly would be a risk associated with a convention of states. No doubt.

My dad had a story where he was talking with a friend about this kind of thing 50 or 60 years ago. His friend turned to him, grinning, and said, "What I want to know is, where do I go to get mine?" It's amazing how few of the corrupt people in DC are ever prosecuted, except that we know there's probably a real "nuclear option" where, if you reveal the level of Democrat wrongdoing, we'll reveal all the awful things you Republucans have done. Okay, okay, we'll drop it. So then some poor bastard's life is destroyed because he or she isn't connected, while the big fish get away.

Roberts. Here’s a fun fact. Remember the last Roe v Wade case and Alito’s opinion was made public? There was someone working in Roberts office, a man by the name of Sheldon Snook, who is the husband of Mary McCord. She has been instrumental in a lot of the leftist upheaval in government. Snook very quietly left the employ of Roberts after Alito’s opinion was made public, and insiders believe that he was the leaker. Roberts does have serious issues.

You mean Lincoln's party?

UncleBob9's avatar

I mean the party that thought slavery needed to continue at all costs, including writing state laws that prevented manumission of slaves if their owners had any debts. While the New England states shafted the South with trade and tax policies aimed at helping industrial growth at the cost of essentially turning the South into colonies that provided cotton and other raw materials to New York and Massachusetts mills, several states shafted some residents by allowing their continued enslavement. Eleven of them decided to secede in large measure because their populations feared Lincoln would emancipate their slaves, even though he didn't move in that direction until his fear of fighting the Confederacy AND Britain and France caused him to issue the overreaching propaganda document, the Emancipation Proclamation.

I discussed the Republicans' dishonesty in passing elsewhere in the thread.

Dianne Warner's avatar

Is that an attempt at ‘humor’? As we all know, Lincoln’s party was Republican: Democrats were the happy Tara rape at will and whip em to death Confederates. Go cry in your corner.

The Jewish Encyclopedia admits modern Jews are mixed with Edomites.

UncleBob9's avatar

"Admits"? Oh no! The JOOZ and a JOO encyclopedia admit they're not pure blood! They're MUBLOODS! He Who Must Not Be Named will send Deatheaters to exterminate them, while his followers will rightly persecute the JOOZ for not remaining pure bloods for 3000+ years! Yeah, you've got us! Except the Bible told us the Israelites -- dem JOOZ! -- intermarried with the neighboring peoples despite being told not to, so you're presenting very old news as some great discovery that disqualifies anyone who's even a bit JOOO-ish from things like life, liberty, eternal life in God's kingdom, and salvation through Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection. You set yourself up as something just a bit above your pay grade: a judge who determines who gets Heaven, and who gets Hell. You ain't that judge, but you're too full of yourself to admit it -- especially since dem JOOOZZ gotta be judged!

BTW, JOOOOOOZZZ are hated in part because JOOOOZZ were chosen by God to be His people because they were the least of peoples, not because they were anything wonderful. Other than the Temple in Jerusalem, which was built for God before the first two were destroyed, they didn't have a great reputation, they didn't build great temples to their greatness like Egypt or crush other countries like Rome, the Mongols, the Medo-Persians, or the Macedonian-Greek Hellenists of Alexander. God wanted ot that way because, well, where's the challenge? And how does God often show His power? By using weak, flawed people to demonstrate the failings of the rich, powerful, and self-righteous, be they Egyptians, Pharisees, or Chatsworth Osborne Jr. and Candace the Flake Owens. You won't admit that your worldview could be wrong because that would diminish your belief that you are some pinnacle of human achievement.

Lugh's avatar

When the Jews returned from the Babylonian captivity, they tried to remain pure, but they failed and mixed with the new peoples who had occupied their land. This happened again and again, so that most Jews in Israel today have no Semitic blood at all. The Palestinians however, do.

There's nothing wrong with being a mutt, Bob. Christianity doesn't have anything to do with race (alas). Just drop the imaginary racial connection to Judaism.

Inisfad's avatar

Zionism by definition is the right for Jews to have a homeland. If you have an issue with the MIddle East, thank the City of London and the UK which were actually the creators of the Middle East issue that we see today.

Lugh's avatar

The UK was taken over by the Jewish bankers long ago. You could have had Madagascar but you insisted on Palestine. Most Jews believe in the Promise but not the Promise Giver.

Inisfad's avatar

Obsessed with Jews. Good Lord.

Night owl's avatar

No different than being obsessed with Muslims. Good Lord.

Inisfad's avatar

The only difference is that the scripture of Muslims, or at least those following it seriously, believe that everyone other than a Muslim is an infidel. You are meant to either convert, become a slave, or be killed. Enjoy.

Lugh's avatar

Do you believe and practice? Or are you only interested in the gibs, not the gibs giver?

Night owl's avatar

Who determines who has a right to a homeland? A homeland is a land settled by a group of people, and retained.

A slice of land carved out by a bunch of English aristocrats for their own aims has no meaning to anyone.

Inisfad's avatar

Then I guess there is also no such thing as Jordan, Syria, etc., where those countries were also formed by English ‘aristocrats’. Why is no one protesting that? And remember, even the word Palestinian was not be used to describe a population, until 1967.

SheilaB's avatar

Over 700,000 *people* were removed from their homes or fled their homes during the Nakba. Are you disputing that these were real people living in real homes that were *their* homes?

Someone on here recently pointed out that Israel is smaller than one particular county in Wyoming (they mentioned 23 counties - I have no idea of their relative sizes). Now, the Jewish people who moved to Palestine after WWII were Europeans (Turkic/Slavic people, who currently represent some 97% of the Jewish population of Israel). They are not Semites. In that they are no different from the people of Wyoming and would presumably have felt more at home with fellow Europeans. So wouldn't it have been great if the people of Wyoming would just have donated one small county to these desperate people? You know what the people of Wyoming are like more than I do, so if their legislators had said, sorry guys, you need to move over so that these people can have a homeland, would they just have handed over the keys and the farms to the incomers and lived happily ever after? Maybe got their friends to take round some beef casserole and apple pie to help them settle in?

Inisfad's avatar

If you must blame anyone, then blame the British who orchestrated the upheaval in the Middle East (and continue to do so). However, whether it’s Nakba, or Naksa, it always seems to be a result of the Arabs attacking the Jews….and losing.

SheilaB's avatar

You miss my point, as did the person who wrote about Wyoming (and didn't reply to my point either). I'm perfectly happy to blame the British deep state (and Rothschilds), as opposed to 'the British', just as I'm happy to blame the English Crown for the plantations of Ireland and the similar ousting of native Irish people from their land, with all the bloodshed that has arisen from that to this day.

I'm British myself and happy to blame the British state for a whole lot of things. It's not going to get me anywhere, though. The people involved are all dead. What I'm asking you is what ordinary Americans would do if the Rothschilds had decided they wanted a chunk of Wyoming. Clearly it's just a thought experiment, as what was wanted - in fact - was a western military outpost in the Middle East, nothing to do with concerns about Jewish refugees. You'll recall that nearly a thousand Jewish refugees arrived in the US by boat and were turned away to go back to Europe, many to be murdered. Why does no-one talk about that when they're doing their Palestinian-hating?

My point was to elicit some kind of empathy, which is in very short supply - to actually ask American zionists to do a little thought experiment and answer HONESTLY how they would react to being told that incomers needed a chunk of their land and specifically needed hundreds of thousands of them to hand over their keys. That is something I'm not hearing a response to, the question of how they would react to having to hand over their keys to incomers and then live peacefully, happily and generously alongside them, maybe even working in their own former fields and having to be checked in and out every day like cattle, intimidated by armed guards at every crossing.

In this thought experiment, perhaps you think the ousted people of Wyoming would not try to get their homes and land back and 'attack' the incomers. What do you think? They'd have been Christians at the time, right? So they'd not only not ask for their coat back but offer their shirt as well. Right?

I'd recommend this documentary I saw just a couple of days ago, made by young Jewish Americans about their own brainwashing and how their minds were changed by visiting Israel and seeing how Palestinians are treated every day.

SheilaB's avatar

There are quite a few very vocal people on here who like to call pretty much everything a 'conspiracy theory' if it doesn't accord with the official narrative (especially that of 'their side') or if it makes them feel uncomfortable. It's astonishing in 2026 but there's no shifting them. In 1967, 30 percent of Americans (which was quite substantial for those naive days) believed the official JFK story was nonsense (the response to their cynicism was the CIA coming up with the thought-terminating cliché, 'conspiracy theorist' which has been a winner to this day). Now that figure is around 75%, but look how long that took!!

So, Pardon my Q like ramblings. Where is Q anyway? I grew up with a beautiful Persian rug covering the fine grained red oak hardwood floors of my low-to-middle class north-east American home. Persia was an exotic and mystical place with flying carpets and magical lanterns. I believe the Persians are a wonderful , historic, and developed culture. I also think perhaps they may have lost their way. I don't know or claim to know. Ignore the following as it is just a ramble. I lived in a 1400 sq. ft. three bedroom 1 bath 1900's basic colonial with beautiful hardwood trim and solid wood doors. No AC and lucky to have a fan in the bedroom I shared with my brother on the 85 degree sultry August nights sweating like crazy until finally falling asleep to the faint train horns in the distance. No garage and 4 kids. two boys and two girls with a used 1960 Rambler American 4 door in the gravel driveway. One TV with 3 free stations and really good programming, Variety shows, westerns, etc. Dad worked full time at a local distribution plant and Mom stayed home. If she needed the car she would bring Dad to work. She had a clothes-line and no dryer. After Nonna died Nonno retired and left the quarry housing and moved in with us. He raised a huge garden and made 150 gallons of wine every year with grapes which came on the trains from California. I loved going to to train yard and loading the old pick-up with crates of grapes from the Central Valley. Great fresh produce from May through October. Every weekend Dad had a project going to fix the place up. Myself and my siblings walked to school every morning and back home every day. After that we were outside until dinnertime and then until the streetlights came on. I was a middle kid and had to go to the local bakery for a 17 cent loaf of Italian bread every day before supper. I started delivering morning papers at age 8-9 and then lawns, bushes, and snow removal later. I got the papers right from the paper truck before school and remember sitting on the curb and reading the news before anyone else. So I guess I have had a 60+ year career so far. Vacations were visiting relatives and sleepovers out by the Great Lakes in Western NY and Canada.Always free board and great times. Fast forward 2026. My fictional American family lives in a 2600 sq.ft. piece of shit with vinyl plank floors and granite countertops. Shitty Asian appliances with a 10 year lifespan. Dad has a new $75,000 pick-up with monthly payments that's never seen a dump load. ,Mom has an SUV to shuttle kids to some sports crap where everybody gets a participation trophy, every kid over 16-17 has a car. There is a TV in every room with 200 channels and shit to watch, central air, nobody goes outside, instead of pushing the mower Dad pays a gym fee which he barely uses and hires a guy to mow the lawn. A vacation costs 10-15,000 dollars for a week on a Disney ship or at a beach rental. My siblings spend their time on their screens. Everybody complains about the cost of living yet they don't even know what living is really about. They live in debt. It is all so sad. Currently a fixer -upper in my area is probably 250-300K. I bought my first place in 1982 with a 14.5 % interest rate. It needed work. Lots of work. It was a dump actually. I did the work. People today want instant gratification and don't want to get dirty. Fuck them. My Grandfather came to America in 1920. He started at the stone quarry sponsored by his brother. My Grandmother followed him in1921 with my newborn mother. I've lived a great life. America has always been open to LEGAL immigrants and is the land of opportunity. Why do millions of people around the world wish to become Americans? Bash America all you want. We've got major problems. Who doesn't? Are we bullies? maybe? I've been accused of being bossy when there is a project going on or even on an accident scene when I am not even in charge. Somebody has to be in charge or the result is chaos and confusion. Many times the shot callers get tunnel vision and can't see the forest for the trees. Sometimes the trees are in the way and nobody knows what's going on. I don't know much about world politics or who to believe. There is so much bullshit being tossed I just don't know who to believe.
