I do think, as a former student of the American Civil War, that what may be coming will make that conflict look like a Sunday school picnic. There will be way more than just two sides. There will be random scattered terrorist guerrilla activity, not nice, neat battlefields with obvious front lines. As in the chaotic Missouri region of the Civil War, you will never know who is your friend and who is your enemy. And the whole country is now lacking in the social and moral resources that the country had 170 years ago, i.e., there is no common language based on Christianity as there was back then (however opposed the interpretations of it were). Even the Spanish Civil War and the Russian Civil War may look organized and comprehensible compared to what will happen here if it all busts wide open.
