When a Political Party tells you they want to kill you, put you in camps, reeducate you... LISTEN TO THEM!

History is replete with People who did not heed that lesson and then were shocked when they were killed, put in camps, reeducated.

Many Jews voted for the NAZIs since they KNEW all of the extremist talk was just that... Talk.

The Kulaks under Stalin.

The Educated under Mao

The City dwellers under Pol Pot.

When they say they want to kill you... BELIEVE them!!!!

As I've said before, I was stunned when noted historian Emory Morton Thomas told those of us in his graduate 19th century American history class in 1990 that the only way to save Ametica is yo round up all Republicans and ship them off to Nazi-style ectermibation camps. Everyone in the class roared with laughter except me. I was horrified. I'd never run into anything like this, even in the People's Republic of Ithaca. That class killed my desire to follow my planned career path of getting a PhD and teaching at the college level. Thomas, asshole that he is, left me a nasty note in my inbox; when I asked what he meant, he said I should take a tramp steamer to the Orient. Interesting thing is, Bill McFeely, who was allegedly to the left of Thomas, thought Thomas was being a horse's ass, but without Thomas' assent, my MA candidacy was dead in the water. My point is, this partisan bullshit in the academy started way earlier than most people think, and it destroyed a lot of careers before they got off the ground solely on the basis of politics. These walking anuses corrupted American efucation and the media, culminating in what we see today with the arrogant whore O'Donnell continuing to lie about Trump to his face. Don't doubt for a minute that these assholes want you dead because you stand in the way of their bif plans to turn the USA into the USSR, starting with the murder of the president.

Alan Devincentis's avatar

Yeah, Ithaca in 1990. 1980. 1970. This shit started in the sixties.

UncleBob9's avatar

A guy I know who went to Cornell thinks the annual day off they give students in "celebration" of the communist takeover of Willard Straight Hall by black extremists is a disgrace. That's an understatement.

Partisan politics supersedes the common good.....for a loooong time.

Partisan politics is nothing but tribalism in disguise. Tribalism is almost impossible to break.

“Stand your ground, don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.”

- Captain John Parker at the Battle of Lexington on April 19, 1775.

Carl L. McWilliams's avatar

The quote “Stand your ground, don’t fire unless fired upon, and if they mean to have a war, let it begin here” is widely attributed to Captain John Parker, commander of the Lexington militia, on the morning of April 19, 1775, at the start of the American Revolution.

Historical Context: Parker issued these orders to his men as they confronted British red coats on Lexington Green. He also ordered his men to disperse, but the command was largely ignored or unheard. A shot of unknown origin ignited a volley that killed eight militiamen/minutemen, including Parker’s cousin, before the British continued to Concord.

Thus on the evening of April, 19, 1775, eight minutemen did not go home that night, allowing me to post this comment on JHK's Substack 250 years later.

JohnAZ's avatar

On the other side, I do not have a quote, but some Southern gentleman issued the order for the first shot at Fort Sumter. We are very close, not in South Carolina, maybe California, Oregon, Minnesota, Washington or even DC.

Remember too that World War One was started with an assassination, another nut.

It seems, and someone can provide a correction if I’m wrong, that anything. Anything a Democrat in any political position says nowadays is either a lie or a gerrymandered prostitution of reality. Ditto for The Media. But I repeat myself.

Ditto for The Republicans. Either a lie or a gerrymandered prostitution of reality.

They are ALL lying sacks of shit!

Provide me a correction if I’m wrong! LOL

Which Republicans?

John Thune. Mitch McConnel. Mike Lee. Jim Banks. Katie Britt. John Boozman. Ted Budd. Susan Collins. Mike Crapo. Ted Cruz. John Curtis. Mike Lee. Lisa Murkouski. Rand Paul. Rick Scott. Tim Scott. Tommy Tuberville. There are few more but my brain isn't functioning well on a Monday morning.

Finally, after 10 years, it's all coming to a head. It's going to be a hot summer in our cities. As our host points out, be prepared for DNC violence. They know what they did. We know what they did. So does the Trump Administration--with all of the evidence.

Cankerpuss's avatar

More waiting........Sigh. Just once I would actually like to see one of these "Trump knows" predictions come to pass.

BlasterJack's avatar

JHK writes in a non-shrill, matter-of-fact style that, like Trump, dismisses progressive narratives out of hand.

Conservatives find that very refreshing.

Dennis L. Merwood's avatar

Actually, JHK writes in a style that, like Trump, is 100% hyperbolic.

Way too much Xenophobic clap trap.

Conservatives eat this stuff up!

He trends toward optimistic, not hyperbolic.

Saw a YouTube video Tube talking about New Zealand starting to prepare to defend itself against a Chinese invasion. Maybe there are some common sense folks in New Zealand.

Then we have Canadian idiots making deals with those nice folks in China. Then we have Alberta’s getting enough signatures plus to have their referendum this fall. Carney is a blooming idiot. Hope they like their 100% tariffs.

elysianfield's avatar

Who the hell is Alberta? Any naked pics?

David "JC" Penny's avatar

"100% hyperbolic" ...exaggeration is used for emphasis or effect...

Yep. That's you.

Ben R's avatar

I believe the term "Dennis you are full of crap is equally correct."

Gwennie's avatar

I am hoping that diving for cover and hiding under tables in their fancy outfits might have a salutary effect on the character of the presstitutues (sorry, JHK) in attendance. They got to co-experience for a few terrified minutes what Trump goes through on a regular basis.

Not a chance. Those mopes dont have this thing instilled in most of us at an early age called shame. Nope.

Dutchmn007's avatar

Appreciate your optimism Mr Kunstler but with turncoats like John Thune in Congress I can’t share it. Hope you are 100% correct. One question though; why the hell does Trump keep going on the leftist media’s broadcasts? Norah O’Donnell for crying out loud/60 Minutes? They’re a joke & a proven joke beyond a reasonable doubt. A smarter move would be going on alt media - Joe Rogan et al - & make the corporate media chase after them.

This reeks of Susie Wiles; the remaining dumb broad - that we know of - in the WH. Any “Republican” who expects fair treatment from Vanity Fair is not playing with a full deck.

James Howard Kunstler's avatar

Dutchman-- John Thune will not have anything to say about the Insurrection Act, if it comes to that. He'll have to lump it. . . or worse.

JohnAZ's avatar

The insurrection Acts, like the war powers act is acknowledgement by Congress that they are incapable of doing the job that the Constitution gave them, responding to emergency situations.

wkenn's avatar

Well-stated. The war powers act is rather new, unlike the Insurrection Act. It is a current statement (spanning a number of decades) on how the Congress has failed to perform its Article I, Section 8 function on matters of declaring War, granting Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;

George's avatar

Trump's time as POTUS is coming to an end sooner than you think. That's not a threat, it's a sober reflection on his fragile state of mind. Picking a fight with the with everyone from the Pope to to America's closest allies is a guaranteed way to alienate the average American voter, which only works in the Democrats favor. Trump's economy is a house of cards fueled by debt.

Inisfad's avatar

What ‘closest allies’? The UK? Perhaps it’s time to investigate history a bit more, and understand that the UK has actually been the puppet master for most global chaos.

Dutchmn007's avatar

But doesn’t that play right into their hands - labeling Trump a “fascist”?

Cankerpuss's avatar

I think Trump has thrown in the towel. He made an effort to vanquish leviathan but realized its hide it too thick to penetrate. His hair is no longer golden, it's white and unkempt. His speech is jarbled and sentences are incoherent and unfinished.

Trump is not a solution to what ails America. He's a symptom of a very sick and dying political system.

JackStrawWichita's avatar

When does the right reach the breaking point? How many more assassinations and attempted assassinations on the president will we tolerate before reaching in to the personal armories?

I hope it never reaches that point, but the hour is getting close for a lot of extremely patient people.

wkenn's avatar

On a Left-Right axis, the Right is not likely to act. The Left is proving on a regular basis they will act. This axis sows and highlights division. If it were a valid axis for action, it would not be one-sided.

It is the Up-Down axis where it can come to a head. Up is freedom, down is tyranny.

I think it is better framed as Up-Down.

Why’d you feel the need to fling that comment right into the making of a conspiracy?

Gwennie's avatar

The 'Regime' arranged for woke lunatic and a shootout in the Hilton in order to advance the build of a ballroom?

Snort!

Although even I admit that the sight of the press scuttling under tables like roaches and their pale, tear-stained faces peering out beneath the tablecloths might have been worth it. Might have been. Would definately have been worth it if a synapse fired in one or two of them that they birthed this Frankenstein monster, who lurched home to his makers for a final act of murder and mayhem.

Fooglee's avatar

Dear JHK, if what you suggest isn’t coming soon, it is all over. We have to pray that it IS coming and soon, and that patriots do what is necessary to do. I like watching Mel Gibson’s patriot flick - he didn’t want to, but when he had to…(((they))) mean to destroy all of us. The CIA programming has worked to perfection - next???

Dennis L. Merwood's avatar

“Prayer is an act of doubt, not an act of faith, for if you truly trusted your god's plan, you wouldn't ever have pray for anything.” ― Michael Sherlock

“The man who prays is the one who thinks that god has arranged matters all wrong, but who also thinks that he can instruct god how to put them right.” - Christopher Hitchens

George Carlin on prayer: “What’s the point of having a divine plan when any schmuck with a 2-dollar prayer book can fuck up your plan?”

Just how many times has the Pope prayed for peace in the holy land? That's worked out very well...yeah right!

"May God bless America!" Why? What kind of God would bless a country providing 2,000lb bombs to a mass-murderer knowing full well he is going to drop them on hospitals and refugee camps?

We are told an all-knowing God designed the incredible complexities of life yet was so unimaginative and primitive it could only resolve issues by killing people.

The main difference between believers and non-believers is magical thinking.

It comes from a desire that there is some magical power out there that will save you from the responsibilities of life.

Pretty much sums up the situation: "...and asked President Trump “What is your reaction to that?” Mr. Trump did not fall for the ruse — which was just an opportunity to reinforce a well-worn scurrility. “You’re a disgrace,” the president replied, and Ms. O’Donnell just continued with the interview as if his answer never registered. There it is."

Yet, bread and circuses....

JohnAZ's avatar

Bill O’Reilly famously stated that the press elected Trump in 2016 by allowing him name recognition and lots of air time by trying to debase him with lies especially on TV. Fox, especially Ingraham is doing the same thing, allowing the Lefty-Left( Love that description of the insane class) way too much air time to express their bullshit, thinking they are “embarrassing” them. Most of America is not sophisticated enough to understand the “embarrassment” technique. I do think Fox talks over the head of much of the American public these days. .???

Build the ballroom!

Cankerpuss's avatar

"If he does all this, it must include an executive order mandating common sense election procedure for the midterm"

Fact is, Trump can not do this. An Executive Order applies only to the Federal Bureaucracy. It isn't law and has no effect over the states and how the states administer their election policy. The authority of the executive is extremely limited by design of the founders.

The US Congress needs to get its shit together. Nothing but a no selling waste of space the US Congress is. They do absolutely nothing to benefit the average citizen of this country. Nothing. We are all hard-pressed to think of something that the Congress has done that benefits us personally. I get emails from my lousy Senator John Curtis and a stupid "representative" and I delete them immediately. They aren't about the peoples' business. They are all about sound bites for Tic-Toc during their useless but numerous "committee hearings."

The American people should be pissing razorblades about the state of their Congress. Instead they are too busy pointing fingers at one man. One man who really has no authority to foment any long term changes that can't be undone with a signature once he leaves office.

Trump can't fix this mess. Period. Congress can. But won't.

wkenn's avatar

"The US Congress needs to get its shit together. " Yup.

"They are all about sound bites" Yup

add the insider trading, the 'large donations' to buy votes, and the 'brownstoning ' traps they fall into... dysfunction doesn't begin to describe the failure.

JDaveF's avatar

Watch the hotel surveillance video. The Secret Service agent who is clearly visible at the checkpoint is focused at the floor in front of his feet, instead of the entrance he should have be focused on. Consquently he doesn't notice the gunman until the gunman is right in front of him, by which time it's too late.

The first time we saw gross Secret Service incompetence in protecting President Trump was in Pennsylvania. This is the second time. Happenstance, coincidence, or enemy action?

Cankerpuss's avatar

Secret Service doesn't equal quality. There is a myth that the Secret Service is infallible. Nothing is infallible, especially when it is populated by morons, idiots and DEI hires.

JDaveF's avatar

My point exactly. Are the two events examples of incompetence, or something worse? As for JohnAZ, if a Secret Service agent cannot remain focused for one evening, perhaps they should seek another job. The agents were there to make sure no one unauthorized gained entrance. The notion that to do so requires one to focus on the entrance does to require an IQ over 145, or unusual attentiveness.

It’s a shame that, according to Mr. Kunstler, I won’t be able to vote in the upcoming federal elections. I’m neither military, nor required to be out of the country. I’m retired and living in Milan, Italy, which according to many people is a socialist hellhole. I can tell you firsthand it is not.

dancingtime's avatar

Why would someone who has chosen to live in another country have a vested interest in what goes on in this one? Have you assimilated there and do you speak Italian? Do you live in with other American ex-pats or do you live out among the natives? Decades ago we used to laugh at American ex-pats who wanted the best of two worlds and here we are with ex-pats from all over the world living in created communities of other ex-pats from the same countries, flying their flags....

Cankerpuss's avatar

You once wrote that you are 12 years old, then claimed you were 66 years old and now you claim to live in Milan, Italy but still read and post comments on CFN. Uh-huh. Having a hard time believing this one.

Listen, idiot, I was mocking you regarding being 12...you talked as though you thought that I was a know-nothing 12 year old. I never said that I was 66 proving that you cannot comprehend the written word. I never said that I live in Italy. What is wrong with your mind? You have an apt name.

JohnAZ's avatar

First question is “Why”? When immigrants become citizens they take an oath declaring allegiance to the United States and rebutting any foreign flag. If people expat, shouldn’t they have to do the reverse, giving up their US citizenship?
