We seem to live in a time where laxity is endemic, even under the current administration. Here it says he was sentenced to 18 months, but the article I read back in 2008 said he was sentenced to 3 yrs. There are details in the numerous accounts I've read where details differ but the main item is that he was arrested and served time in prison/jail.

Trump clearly has a NATO problem, an intelligence service problem, and a possible traitorous senator problem. We seem to live in a time where laxity is endemic, even under the current administration. While there are signs here and there that there is a new sheriff in town, the application of our laws on such a high level seems to have largely gone to the wayside. Whether this is a symptom of a deeper cultural malaise, I don't know. Perhaps it's the tacit recognition that sometimes the low road can take you places that the high road doesn't, which is a sobering realization.

I do not have time to do research for you, as my husband is very ill and I have to take care of him right now. But I was able to find this in 1 minute on yandex.com. Here it says he was sentenced to 18 months, but the article I read back in 2008 said he was sentenced to 3 yrs. There are details in the numerous accounts I've read where details differ but the main item is that he was arrested and served time in prison/jail.

Trump clearly has a NATO problem, an intelligence service problem, and a possible traitorous senator problem. On the other hand, Russia has human and natural resources and is desperate for westernization. If Trump pulls away from and cuts off NATO and embraces Russia, which he should, it is my opinion that NATO and the EU collapses shortly thereafter, with half their countries immediately withdrawing from NATO/EU and joining the US/Russia collaboration. There would likely be no war and the US, Russia and other nations would divide up the spoils. It's a heavy lift given the likes of slimy senators like graham and Blumenthal, but if anyone can do it, it's Trump.
