The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have stated that these groups run summer camps in the Gaza Strip where children receive military training, learning to fire weapons, use tunnels, fight against tanks, and kidnap soldiers as part of early preparation for their military wings.

Notably, Islamic Jihad was involved in attacks conducted by 17-year-olds in 2002 and 2004, and Hamas leaders have stated that individuals as young as 16 are considered adults.
International organizations have documented the use of children as messengers, couriers, fighters, and suicide bombers by major Palestinian armed groups, including Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Fatah, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
Although there was no evidence of systematic recruitment by these groups as of 2004, children were still used in various combat-related roles.
Amnesty International has condemned the use of children in armed attacks as an "abomination" and called on Palestinian leadership to end such practices.
Additionally, reports indicate that both Hamas and the Palestinian Authority engage in ideological indoctrination of children, promoting martyrdom and armed resistance against Israel through education and media.
