What Obama wants is the Democrat version of the German SS and Gestapo--a "national security force" to exterminate the freedoms, wealth, and--ultimately--the lives of anyone who dares to question or oppose the Democrat de facto dictatorial regime that he so fervently wants to create. You won't find the Federalist Papers on Obama's nightstand, you will find Mein Kampf and the Communist Manifesto. He loves both of them.
The DNC decided that they were losing the edge with the US people about 20 years ago. The people were getting ahead under Reagan and Clinton and started to want to protect their new found capital from the invasions of the IRS.
The new plan? They already had control of education and the universities but more needed to be done. They threw all the immigration control of Clinton and early Obama and progressively started pushing for an open border, to first allow in millions of socialistic people and then work on the system to get them enfranchised. Not to take the seven years or so to become naturalized citizens, but to give them corrupted voting rights right now. Local elections in New England already have allowed all”residents”to vote.
This is why the single issue of deportation has grabbed the DNC by the cojones. They worked for twenty years, with help from the Bushes, to load up the country with illegal, not undocumented, immigrants from everywhere. These millions have ensconced themselves into our country, providing foreign nations access to our political and economic systems. The Dems are trying to protect these power gains with all their political tools. If Trump loses control of the immigration situation, our country is finished as a beacon of individuality. The fact that 50% of the Senate are opposed to a bill that would serve to secure US elections is clear indication that the rot in the USA has permeated the mushy minds of at least half the people. If it collapses on itself we could at least work to build anew from the ashes. As long as it persists in its current leviathan configuration the rot will persist.

Yes, you are right, but, the Constitution also permits the House and Senate to set their own operational procedures. Therefore, the filibuster is Constitutional, in a round about way. Personally, I think the filibuster is a good thing. It slows down the process and is intended to invoke more debate on a bill. But like all things that politicians and humans are involved in, it has become corrupted until it is nothing more than a tool for obstruction.
I agree with our host, if the filibuster is to be used then the Senator or Senators who invoke the filibuster must stand there at that floor podium and continue to talk. That means they don't get snack breaks, no potty breaks, no sleep breaks. Let them stand there and soil themselves and then continue to ramble on while feeling the load in their pants and the offensive smell of their own fecal matter.
My understanding of the Senate is in essence it's a debate society. This feature functions to slow everything down. Slowing whatever legislation is making its way through the process should help prevent spur of the moment enactments largely based on the emotions of the moment.
With media able to control narratives to their liking more than ever (at least this is the appearance) in the history of the country, having a mechanism to slow down the process should be a good idea.

Years ago, I worked a short time in a federal government agency. On the first day, I was asking about the "ledger," the accounting books (assets, liabilities, income, expenses, etc.). My boss looked at me and grinned, saying "I'm not sure you are cut out for government work."
I learned that there were two accounting systems, and the one that was "most reliable" was at least 45 days behind. My boss was right, but I lasted longer than he did.

Had that happen with one guy who was sitting next to my wife.
He was hitting on any female near him including my wife and messing with some wrestling coach's bald head.
He was served two drinks and did not have the money to actually pay for it.
By the end of the flight from Norfolk to Baltimore, he was unhappily sitting next to me and started trying to touch me which caused him to be repeatedly accidently elbowed to the face as I was stretching hard enough to hurt but not hard enough to cause damage.
He kept messing with the wrestling coach in front of him and it was all I could do to keep this from escalating.
I resorted to telling him to keep his hands to himself loudly and then pushing his hands back down.
No other passenger did anything including the really yoked wrestling coach except pull out their damn cell phones and film the nonsense.
I had to give a statement about his behavior as they arrested him, and had not four or five passengers come forward to say he was out of control and touching people I am not sure what would have happened.
We were given a free pair of tickets for our trouble.
Thankfully I was able to maintain enough control it did not become a TikTok viral like so many of these plane fiascos.

The DNC decided that they were losing the edge with the US people about 20 years ago. The people were getting ahead under Reagan and Clinton and started to want to protect their new found capital from the invasions of the IRS.

Yes, you are right, but, the Constitution also permits the House and Senate to set their own operational procedures. Therefore, the filibuster is Constitutional, in a round about way. Personally, I think the filibuster is a good thing. It slows down the process and is intended to invoke more debate on a bill. But like all things that politicians and humans are involved in, it has become corrupted until it is nothing more than a tool for obstruction.
I agree with our host, if the filibuster is to be used then the Senator or Senators who invoke the filibuster must stand there at that floor podium and continue to talk. That means they don't get snack breaks, no potty breaks, no sleep breaks. My understanding of the Senate is in essence it's a debate society. This feature functions to slow everything down. Slowing whatever legislation is making its way through the process should help prevent spur of the moment enactments largely based on the emotions of the moment.

Defunding TSA only delays paychecks, it does not mean they don't eventually get paid. The indirect effect is, depending on the "labor market," more employees than normal call in sick, as a sort of silent strike, for which they will still get paid (stunning and brave, isn't it).
The effect of this is that TSA wait times double, triple, or more. This effect is more pronounced in larger, urban markets, not so much in rural markets where the labor force is more committed, and will not lie about being sick.
The same scenario occurred with ATC during the last shutdown.
I worked with a young man that was a TSA agent for a year or two before he decided it was not what he wanted to do with his life.
He said the job straight up sucked.

Years ago, I worked a short time in a federal government agency. On the first day, I was asking about the "ledger," the accounting books (assets, liabilities, income, expenses, etc.). My boss looked at me and grinned, saying "I'm not sure you are cut out for government work."
I learned that there were two accounting systems, and the one that was "most reliable" was at least 45 days behind. My boss was right, but I lasted longer than he did.

TSA famously misses weapons all the time when they are audited. The odds are they aren’t going to find that six-inch knife. As far as “too drunk” goes, that seems to be up to the airline staff at boarding.

Had that happen with one guy who was sitting next to my wife.
He was hitting on any female near him including my wife and messing with some wrestling coach's bald head.
He was served two drinks and did not have the money to actually pay for it.
By the end of the flight from Norfolk to Baltimore, he was unhappily sitting next to me and started trying to touch me which caused him to be repeatedly accidently elbowed to the face as I was stretching hard enough to hurt but not hard enough to cause damage.
He kept messing with the wrestling coach in front of him and it was all I could do to keep this from escalating.
I resorted to telling him to keep his hands to himself loudly and then pushing his hands back down.
No other passenger did anything including the really yoked wrestling coach except pull out their damn cell phones and film the nonsense.
I had to give a statement about his behavior as they arrested him, and had not four or five passengers come forward to say he was out of control and touching people I am not sure what would have happened.
We were given a free pair of tickets for our trouble.
Thankfully I was able to maintain enough control it did not become a TikTok viral like so many of these plane fiascos.

It has often been observed that “the best defense is a good offense,” and that is certainly the best strategy when a position is indefensible. Our nation is currently beset with two great problems that require the forces of justice and rationality to switch from defense to offense.
No reasonable argument can be made that any of the provisions of the SAVE act are unnecessary for a legitimate voting process, so its opponents stay on the perpetual offense by calling its supporters “racist.” It’s bullshit, but no decent person wants to be thought a racist, so it remains effective until right-thinking people determinedly take the offense and knock those people back on their heels.

I knew the covid was a scam when they told us it was safe to enter Home Depot, Walmart and Target. But if we went into a Chiropractor's office, a gym or a church, suddenly that waskally wittle virus became dangerous and would kill us.
