Commentary on architectural blunders in monthly serial.

The sad mutilation of an old barn on an alley in Saratoga Springs, NY. The owner is coccooning the old building in vinyl, erasing the fine detail. We have a design review commission in town which mercilously interferes in proposed new construction -- often preventing good things from getting built -- but they turn a blind eye to desecrations like this one on existing buildings.
